Gazing out over the Seto Inland Sea from 188 m above
If you have visited the Onigashima Great Cave, a tourist attraction, you should go a little further to the Washigamine Observatory. After exiting the cave, turn right (left is the way back) and walk gently uphill for about 7 minutes to reach a square planted with cherry trees and a wooden observation deck. From the observatory, you can enjoy an almost 360-degree panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea! To the north is Okayama, to the west is the Seto Ohashi Bridge, to the south is the urban area of Takamatsu, and to the east are the islands of Oshima and Shodoshima.... The view from every angle is different, and the blue sea and sky change from moment to moment, so you will never get tired of looking at them. Buses from the Onigashima Grotto to the harbor depart once an hour. Be careful not to miss the bus because of the view from the observatory.
