Ogijima
Island Time Spot
Island Time Spot
One of Seto Inland Sea’s busiest maritime routes
Ogijima Lighthouse is a rare unpainted lighthouse made of Aji stone in Japan. On the north side of the sea, which can be seen from the beach next to the lighthouse, there is a shipping lane called "Bisan Seto Higashi Kouro" where many cargo ships and tankers can be seen. This is one of the busiest shipping lanes in Japan, and since it is possible to see a wide range of ships, from domestic to foreign vessels, it has become a favorite spot for ship-viewing among some fans. Also, from late January to February, daffodils bloom beautifully. Spending time on the island, surrounded by the sea breeze and gazing at the ships, is a great way to spend island time.
