Ibuki Island and “Master Roshi” Legacy Kamishibai:Stories for the Next 50years
Ibuki Island was home to an old man nicknamed “Master Roshi.” He wanted to bring more liveliness to the island where he was born and raised, so he set about making unique chairs to put all around, to delight visitors.
Many admired him for working so hard for the benefit of the island and the people on it — including us. We got a tour of the island, and talked for hours about its future. Even now that he’s gone, his unforgettable kindness and friendliness inspired us to tell his story.
